Formed by Clal Industries and Investments (CII) in early 2008 as a wholly owned subsidiary, Clal Energy is a focal point of and growth engine for CII.

Clal Energy strives to exploit opportunities in the areas of Private Power Generation, Renewable Energy and Natural Energy Resources.

Global economic growth, unmet generation and transmission needs, Green Energy growing prominence and the need for power independence, present substantial opportunities for investment both in Israel and overseas.

Clal Energy is led by experienced professionals with vast business and managerial experience including:

  • Avi Fischer and Zvika Livnat, Co-CEOs of CII, serve as Co-Chairmen of the Board.
  • Dani Vardi (Lt. General, Armored Corps) joined CII in March 2008, to serve as CEO of Clal Energy.

Following his service as a Lt. General (Armored Corps) in the IDF, Mr. Vardi served as CEO of various private companies. His last position (during the years 2003 – 2008) was as CEO of the Israel National Gas Company.

  • Tal Mund - VP in CII, he was deeply involved in the company's energy activities and is a member of Clal Energy's core team.

Clal Energy is also involved in the development and advancement of power stations developed by CII's subsidiaries – AIPM (TASE, AMEX), Israel’s leading manufacturer and distributor of paper and paper products, and Nesher, Israel's sole manufacturer of cement and a dominant force in the country’s building materials sector, supplying cement to the domestic market and exporting to the Palestinian Authority.

Current activities:

  • 220 MW Pumped Storage Power Station (100%) – Mount Carmel project under planning and licensing.
  • Global Wind Energy (50% partnership with Merhav-Ampal group) – the spearhead for global presence in Renewable Energy investments, targeting a substantial portfolio of investments in Wind and Photovoltaic Energy. The company is pursuing business opportunities in Europe and Asia.
