Mr. Nochi Dankner is the Owner and the Chairman of the IDB Group, the leading conglomerate in Israel. The IDB Group holds major stakes in leading, export oriented companies which operate in key industries such as: communications, insurance and finance, real estate, retail, industry, high-technology, bio-technology and tourism. IDB's joint revenues represent a significant portion of Israel's GDP, with total assets of 28B$ and a broad presence in the global markets.
Committed to giving back to the community, Mr. Dankner serves as the Chairman of the IDB foundation for the community which contributes to organizations and various projects in cities and villages in the north and in the south of Israel in fields of education, welfare, health and culture. Mr. Dankner also holds key voluntary positions in various associations, among them: The Tel-Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, Tel-Aviv University and Bar-Ilan University.
During the recent years Mr. Dankner was granted a several Honorary Citizenships from various major cities and villages in Israel in gratitude for his activism on their behalf and his remarkable generosity.
In January 2007 Mr. Dankner received the Israeli Industrialists Association Award in recognition of his significant, steadfast efforts to strengthen the Israeli economy.
In May 2007 Mr. Dankner was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree from Bar-Ilan University as an outstanding personality recognition of his decisive contribution, as a leading entrepreneur to growth the Israeli economy as well as for his outstanding social activity and his generous support to higher education Israeli scientists. Mr. Dankner holds the rank of Major (res.) in the Israel Air Force. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree and his LL.B. from Tel Aviv University.
